The Calhoun Police Department has announced the arrest of a Gordon County man on charges of child molestation for crimes which allegedly occurred almost 10 years ago.
According to a prepared statement from Calhoun Police Chief Garry Moss they have arrested Holdbert Morales-Armas, age 38 of Calhoun after he allegedly had sex with a minor in June of 2004. Calhoun Police Lieutenant Tony Pyle says the victim, who was nine at the time of the sexual assault, recently gave them evidence linking the crimes to the suspect.
Morales-Armas faces five counts of child molestation and one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes.
Morales-Armas was taken into police custody January 23 and remained in the Gordon County Jail Wednesday evening.
