Playful sea otters on a wildlife quest trip out of Skagway. They roll themselves up in kelp to keep themselves from drifting off, then break open clams or other shellfish for lunch.

It was a grey and rainy day in the Stephens Passage when I caught a humpback whale doing a roll. These are his pectoral fins, or flippers which means he is rolled over on his back at this point.

Beautiful downtown Juneau. The state capitol, with fewer citizens than Rome Ga. It is a gorgeous downtown strip. The only capitol you can't reach by car.

Skagway was the gateway to the Yukon and the gold fields. Hence, it was a rough, and playful town.

I think there are more floatplanes than there are automobiles in Alaska. These are moored in Ketchikan.
