Talk Of The Town started back in the 50s with Ben Lucas hosting the record show and playing requests from the listeners. Ben Lucas then became affiliated with WROM AM and 97.7 Fm in the 60s and 70s. Nelle Worked with Ben when she first came to Rome in 1968. Just getting into broadcasting Nelle was one of the first female Disc Jockeys in Georgia to produce and direct her own show. Nelle Worked at every avenue of Radio doing News, Sports, Community events and playing that ever so popular rock music that hit really big in the 60s and 70s. She always loved doing community news and involving herself in projects that didn't get much attention and needed behind the scenes help...Approaching the late 90s Nelle came to work for WRGA and needing a name for her talk show, Randy Quick suggested bringing the Old TAlk Of The Town Back... Contacting Ben Lucas and asking permission to use the name and getting Ben's blessing the new Talk of The Town was resurrected. Talk of the town hears the heartbeat of the community and national coverage as well! Nelle is a veteran broadcaster with a young at heart attitude.
