Resisting the impulse to raise the rate does not mean the county is without financial challenges but County Manager Kevin Poe says it is a situation that has been planned for. Commission members Tuesday night discussed different ways of approaching the budget process and the potential for grant money to help get through a financially difficult time.
The Commission last night also approved an application for State Emergency Management Agency grant that would provide 25-thousand dollars toward the cost of a generator for the county administrative building. The equal matching funds could come from Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax money if the grant is approved.
