The new Harbin Clinic Cancer Center is about nine months away from opening, with excitement building for many in the community. Oncologist Dr. Tommy Simpson says the new facility and its contents will be a welcome addition. A beam signing is being held this week for residents to sign and receive a connection to the permanent structure. During the groundbreaking for the center last Spring, Harbin President Dr. Ken Davis revealed some of the new patient services that this center and its occupants will provide. Speaking to Rome Rotarians last week, Cancer Navigators Executive Director Phillip Edge said this center will play a role in the plans for his organization to expand. This week’s beam signing opportunity will be from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, with the signed beam to hang in the rotunda of the center once completed.
